joanna&simone: a token of friendship

Happy Monday, sweet readers! What better way to start this summer week than by introducing our second Journal Entry by Joanna & Simone, appropriately titled…a token of friendship. Last week in the studio we were inspired by friends both new and old and turned to this naughty but nice photo of four friends partaking in a little something outside their norm. Let’s just call it a little bonding between the girls. In keeping with the black & white photo, it seemed natural to continue with those colors – white is the purity of friendship and black, well, the mischief that us friends sometimes stir up (all with good intentions of course…).We all have to have a little fun, right?  Check out our in process shots over at Kneeland Co.’s blog here.

And in case you missed Joanna & Simone’s first Journal Entry titled Blue Notes, you can view it here and here.

Magazine tear, vintage lace and fabric, shell necklaces, vintage buttons, paint splattered beads, On Friendship by Michel de Montaigne, vintage pearl cluster earring, vintage geometric necklace

  1. [...] With the Summer setting in, we can’t help but daydream of getaways; Mexico’s blue water beaches; Machu Picchu, Peru, for some epic hikes and colorful textiles; and Buenos Aires for sexy summer tangos. And of course, what would Latin love mean without Frida Kahlo? Naturally, we think of the crown of flowers that she so beautifully wore in her hair as well as the vivid, breathtaking colors and cultural influences she used in her work. The Summer of Love, or El Verano de Amor, indeed.
