Good morning, sweet readers! I always love the month of January – it tends to be a bit slower in the gift world, so I can take stock, be present (no pun intended) and look forward towards the year ahead. With the cozy nostalgia of the holidays behind us and Spring heading our way, it’s easy to feel like it’s the time of beginnings. These sweet pieces from artist Lisa Rupp are in sync with my mood – refreshed, energetic…and quite optimistic, actually. How’s your January going, by the way?
This bright Forget-Me-Not screenprint should be in a kitchen near us…

And how about this Poppy towel below…a sweet addition those important morning coffee & tea rituals, no?

I often talk about my daydreams of a relaxed Holiday Season – a season filled with downtime for crafting, cozying down and enjoying the leisurely evenings with family & friends. In the gifting business, it’s not likely! I have no complaints (what’s better than days spent creating beautiful & inspired gifts?) but look forward to January, when I can unwind and craft to my hearts content. How about embroidering your way into 2012 with this fun diy calendar tea towel. Pretty worthy of the craft night to – do list wouldn’t you say? By the way, how’s your gifting going this season? I would love to hear what you have going on!

Sweet readers, can you believe it’s already Thanksgiving next week? I for one am looking forward to a trip up North to SF. Fall is the most beautiful time of year up there! I thought I would dive in and set the Thanksgiving mood with these festive Etsy finds. How adorable is the acorn present topper below? They come in a sweet little set with glittered tops to boot. The perfect touch for your holiday hostess gifts, no?

Then why not follow up and say thanks to the hostess of the feast with a hand-written note on this letterpress beauty? What are your plans for the Holiday? Are you cooking, or will you be a lucky guest?

Check out these sweet accessories by Jennifer Loiselle. Jennifer crafts each piece weaving grosgrain ribbon in her London studio. She uses quite a precise touch to make her collection, painstakingly turning the fluid ribbon into something sculptural. The bold combination of colors on the asymmetrical piece below are a fave: sapphire blue, purple, charcoal grey and black. Quite modern, wouldn’t you say?

The below is a sweet little pill box hat that rests on a velvet base. How very British, in the best way. Check out her site – she’s prolific and inspired.

Take a look at these fantastic mandalla-esque pieces from artist Jay Mohler. These Ojos de Dios or God’s Eye, are inspired by his time spent with the Huicholi natives of Mexico many years ago. The Huicholi call the pieces Sikuli, which means ‘the power to see and understand things unknown’. Consider them a ritual tool with magical powers, representing the patterns of many beliefs around the world. We all need a little magic manifesting in our lives from time to time, don’t you think?

There’s quite a bit of meditative care put into these pieces. Wouldn’t it be gorgeous to make one with silk thread?

How lovely is this little floral painting on reclaimed cedar wood? I love the idea of gifting this along with a simple, potted succulent. It’s a sweet way to send a simple gesture of thanks – perfect for a post-party thank you!

The other day I came across, Love Daniella, a little shop on etsy that’s filled with beautiful things. Her gold trimmed ceramic spoons below are great for spices of course, but I’m thinking they also look great in the way they are clustered, below.

Her hand-dyed placemats and napkins come in many a beautiful color combination.

These gold trim ceramic bowls make the perfect catchalls – for the kitchen or bedside.

The embroidered details add an additional hand-made touch. Lovely, no?
