Happy Friday my friends! This weekend feels well deserved…how about for you? My week has been about locking down the next 3 months of planning – my Holiday Season has finally taken shape and it is looking quite busy for sure. For the weekend, I’m excited to say I’ll be setting up a home-town little engagement party for some wonderful friends who will be tying the knot. What sounds better than a Fall gathering for the sake of LOVE? Not much I tell you. My creative mind is steeped in Oct colors – and don’t they look so lovely, below? If only we could turn down the heatwave in LA, it might actually feel like we’ve hit this wonderful, cozy season. Hope you have a great weekend, let me know what you’re up to! xxS

How thrilled are you that the long weekend is here? I hope you all have a relaxing few days lined up for yourselves; the end of a season should be recognized and appreciated. This Summer for me was full of unexpected change on personal and work fronts; I was tested beyond what I thought possible, and challenged to see what I’m truly made of… I’ll be reflecting on all of this past and thinking about what the future might hold with a little trip to Ojai. One thing’s for sure – I’ll appreciate the present time with some of my favorite activities: a leisurely morning or two, treasure hunting, hikes, painting by a poolside, and enjoying some sunset meals in good company. I’m looking forward to closing down Summer and welcoming Fall. Friends, what are you up to? Do tell…I love to hear your stories.

Happy Weekend friends. I’m going to do my best to take it easy and do as little as possible over the next couple of days. Specifically…I’ll be sitting in my garden doing some painting, possibly hitting up the Farmers Market for a cozy dinner with a very special someone on Sunday. Sounds nice, right? What do you have planned?

Hello weekend…. What’s on your plate this weekend, friends? I’ll be combining work and play, and hopefully a bit of creative Simone time. Work is picking up to a very intense level – I’m managing about 15 different projects, which of course means personal time is very hard to find. I’m determined to carve some out, and I think it will come to me through sunset cocktails with friends this evening, and some quiet hours of painting or drawing for Saturday. Fingers crossed, as you never can tell. What are you up to beauties? Let me know! xxS

So you may have read on either Jeana or Heather’s blogs about our lovely ladies trip to Big Sur. We had a marvelous weekend and the good times are still resonating…
Our arrival brought sunshine and fog in the way that only Big Sur can bring. We were told to look for the ‘single pine tree and a row of mailboxes’ which would lead us up to our place. Little did we know it would also lead us up a 2 mile dirt road that dropped dramatically down to the ocean. The road, although beautiful, made us feel like city girls in the country.
We arrived at our house and were thrilled by what we saw and heard – nature in all forms, and pure, unbroken silence.
The house overlooked an extraordinary cliff, with a meditation deck and a garden filled with lavender. The fog and the sunshine had a bit of a battle going on…
Being a Northern California girl, I had packed for rainy mornings and cool nights. LA and the summer heat seemed very far away from us, thankfully.
In my road weary state, I enjoyed a crisp glass of wine which helped ease my frustration with my novice camera skills.
Sweet birthday girl Joanna had the right idea – she hopped straight to the sunlit daybed and let us bring her wine and treats, as any birthday girl should.
Miss Heather had better luck with her camera than I. She and Jeana bring the world some beautiful simplicity from behind the lens.
Do you remember what if feels like to be a kid again? I suggest you find a way to get to that state of mind, if only for a moment. It feels good.
Melissa not only creates the kind of clothing you really want to wear, but she also makes the best s’mores you can imagine. She has no fear about teaching you how to attack the task with proper diligence and will demonstrate this, preferably with a glass of wine in hand.
Our day 2 brought us to Deetjen’s, for what was literally the coziest morning you can imagine. More on that…tomorrow.

Welcome back weekend, we have missed you….What are you up to for the next few days? Here’s my plan: head out to the Hari Krishna store for some cotton voile kaftans for the days of heat up ahead, explore Venice Beach a bit, dinner with friends on Saturday and a bday party, and then a perfectly low-key-fancy food festival on Sunday, with cocktails to boot. So, it’s a weekend of escape…right in my own fair city. Let me know where you’re headed? Perhaps we’ll cross paths! xxS

I must admit, I forsee a bit of the reckless bug in me this weekend. With the impending only-in-LA carmaggedon shut down of the 405, the summer temps heating up, and a week that was full of work deadlines and personal ups and downs, I’m ready to toss my hands up in the air and let the world take over for a while. My remedy? TBD. Let’s just say I’m hoping for some simple, happy, healthy & healing hours. I can see them through the trees, up ahead…. What’s your story, kittens? Summer fun, I hope. Wishing for you all good things!

Here’s the flavor I’m feeling for this weekend…large doses of me, myself and I. Yes, there are some parties, Yes, the Rosebowl is calling my name, and Yes, a brunch is on the agenda. However, the truth of all truths is that I need to stop, slow down, and let some changes sink in. There’s many a shift in my part of town, and what better way to get through it than with a down comforter and messy bed-hair? I hope you have something special planned for yourselves – in whatever form that special needs to be. Let me know, please…x

So sweet pals…we have made it! The holiday weekend is finally here. Can you tell by this pic that I’m feeling inspired to join in on some festivities? Time to put on a dress, gather some friends, and ride away into the sunset. Preferably to an evening soiree where your frippery will be adored. I haven’t decided what exactly I’ll be doing, but options are a good thing, and there are quite a few. Have a FABULOUS 4th, and see you back here on Tuesday. I have a really lovely joanna&simone post coming your way…! xxSimone

What’s on your plate for the weekend, lovelies? I think I’ll be heading out to Palm Springs for a bit of me time – some reflective moments and getaway sunshine. I’ll fit in a bit of estate sale searching as well to take the mind off the stresses of LA’s day-to-day. I hope you have a great weekend, and would love to hear what you’re up to. Hope it’s relaxing and refreshing. xxS
